Principals Emma & Pamela Richards set up their dance school in 2000. They now teach over 500 children a wide variety of dance styles, including Latin American, street dance, freestyle and cheerleading. They are both members of the IDTA and UKA examining bodies for dance, having gained their qualifications as professional Dance teachers.
Emma and Pamela formed RSD Dance and Cheerleading teams for the members of the school who wanted to take their skills onto the competitive floor. This year the teams gained British and International titles in both dance and cheerleading.
In addition to teaching their own classes, Emma & Pamela also work on a regular basis with outside bodies such as the Princess Trust, Duke of Edingbourgh award and many local schools. They have also worked with Professional Theatre and TV companies. In 2005 they were the choreographers for the OMTC christmas pantomime Robinson Cruso. Other choreography work includes stage and fashion shows.
Before becoming professional both Emma & Pamela both enjoyed very successful competitive dance careers, both being former British Champions, representing Wales and Britain numerous times on Come Dancing, and representing Great Britain at the World and European Championships. The thrill of competing was something they both loved, but they are now finding that enjoyment by encouraging, training and motivating other young people to be the best they can be.
Emma & Pamela got involved in cheerleading in 2003. Since then they have gone on to undertake coaching qualifications with both the NCSSE and USASF cheerleading bodies.
