Richards School of Dance is a member of both the IDTA and UKA examining body. Examinations sessions are carried out approximately twice a year. All students are taught following a syllabus which enables them to take their examination. Following the examination the students receive their awards and certificates at a presentation event.
Our under 8 yrs classes follow a syllabus which enables with to take rosette examinations. Once completed they move onto the social dance series.
Our Junior Dance class follows a syllabus which enables students to take social dance awards and then progress onto the medal dance system where they will start with a 1 Dance test, they can be continue to a 2 dance test - Bronze Medal, 3 dance test - Silver Medal, and 4 dance test - Gold Medal. Each test being slightly more demanding than the previous.
At the RSD Academy of Performing Arts the children are trained to Follow the Musical Theatre examination syllabus.
